This course aims to help you respond to the Covid-19 Benefit changes and difficulties your clients are experiencing post March 2020.
topics include-
- the government income replacement schemes for the employed/ self employed
- how to present as sick
- UC - over 1 million new claims, assessment periods, whether to delay a claim, when self employment/ employment (furloughed) income is taken into account
- common queries for example around-
Universal Credit/ Tax Credits - Standard Allowance increase
Local Housing Allowance Increase for HB and UC Claimants
Reviews and reassessments for disability benefits are being suspended
No requirement to attend jobcentre appointments for three months
New Claims for Universal Credit up by 100,000s- request backdating if computer delays
Free School Meals replaced by vouchers
schemes for employed and self employed to have up to 80% of wages paid- consider a claim for Universal Credit in the meantime.
10.30am- 12pm. This is a 90 minute online course run through the Zoom platform(you will just need internet access and we will send you a code to join the meeting).
There will be a maxmium of 12 places per course and opportunities to exchange information/ ask questions.
