This one day course provides support workers with an overview of the debt and money advice process, it is primarily aimed at workers with little or no experience of giving debt advice, it is also a useful refresher for more experienced people.

We will look at priority and non-priority creditors, various enforcement methods available to them; we will consider what options the client may have and how to negotiate. Bankruptcy, debt relief orders and administration orders will be covered; we will look at how to draft a financial statement both for use in budgeting and as a negotiation tool.

This course will include—
