Around 4.5 million children were in relative poverty in the year to April 2024.
The 2 child limit is being removed by the Government in April 2026. This
affects those on Universal Credit (not Child Beneft- where there is no limit).
By 2029 the policy is predicted to lift 450,000 children and 150,000 adults out
of relative poverty.

Unfortunately, the government has confrmed that any increase that families
receive will mean a £ for £ reduction in any transitional element that might be
payable.
