Job Grant payments will end from April 2013, as well as In-Work Credit or Return and Work Credit payments, from October 2013. Lord Freud announced on 12 July 2012 that Back to Work payments are to be phased out due to the introduction of Universal Credit.
Payments in progress at the start of October 2013 will continue until completion or a change of circumstances that brings the payment to an end. The idea is that Universal Credit will provide in-work incentives to everyone, rather than the specific groups who are eligible for the three existing payments.
