Thank you to all those who attended our Universal Credit courses over the last few months. Here's a selection of some of the feedback you gave us on how your cases are proceeding-

Alternative Payment Arrangements can take 4-6 weeks to process

Data matching between the registered social landlord and UC doesn't always happen and notification that the client is on UC could be sent to the old landlord's address(on the original rent agreement)

Cut and paste of details on award notifications with old details left on Some clients received no letter of award notification
Rent agreement copies lost
Not being told by the DWP about short term advances

Other news-

Referring to the restriction in housing costs for 18-21 year olds announced in the Summer Budget 2015-
(click here) '...will be introduced for certain new Universal Credit claims from April 2017. All claimants that are receiving Housing Benefit will not be affected by this policy.'

The governmenthas said- 'Universal Credit is now available in nearly 50% of all Jobcentre areas nationally, and within at least one office in every District. It will be in every jobcentre by Spring 2016.'
