UC- in work conditionality- Eventually with Universal Credit it won't be enough for a claimant to work part time and get bene t. Claimants will be required to work and earn at least 35 x the minimum wage. If they don't achieve thistheywillbeexpectedtolookformoreworkandcouldbesubjecttobene tsanctions. The government has con rmed that this is still some way off for all claimants and will be running a pilot.
'The In-work Progression Randomised Control Trial is rolling out nationally but not yet complete. We plan to have recruited the necessary 15,000 participants by Autumn 2016. We will then continue to support claimants for a further year in the trial, with ndings in early 2018.'

3/4 of UC tenants in rent arrears- a report by the The National Federation of ALMOs Ltd (NFA) says-
'The manner in which UC is currently being administered is clearly having a direct impact on the numbers of households falling into arrears - half of whom had no history of rent arrears...79% of council tenants in receipt of Universal Credit (UC) are in rent arrears...'

5 new areas gain the full Digital service- any type of new claims are now taken in Harrogate, Richmond (North Yorkshire), Inverness, Hammersmith and Ryedale.
