The government has released figures (up to July 2016) on PIP

931,800 claims in payment,1,769,600 claims assessed- 

 

 

For the majority of mandatory reconsiderations, the award remains unchanged- Of the new claim normal rules MRs cleared, 36,400 (15%) led to a change in the claimant’s award, and 24,900 (22%) reassessed DLA MRs cleared led to a change in award.-

The most commonly recorded disabling condition is ‘Psychiatric disorder’-

 

 

 

Average claim processing times have improved- 7 weeks new claims(6 working days if terminally ill).

 

27% of DLA claims reassessed under PIP rules don't get an award-

Remember that the government is aiming to reassess around 2 million people who are currently on DLA under the PIP rules.  It's predicted that 500,000 will no longer qualify for benefit.
