The Social Security Advisory Committee would like to hear your views by 15/3/2016 on whether Mandatory Reconsideration is working well. They want to know how well the appeals function works,could the DWP improve the evidence and how it gathers that evidence before Mandatory Reconsideration, about the quality of decision making and whether DWP communication be improved.
We are worried that since it's introduction, new appeals have dropped by around 80%. We hear from you that clients often don't understand that the appeal is another stage beyond Mandatory Reconsideration, and so give up early.
