DWP Touchbase (Nov) magazine has highlighted a rule-
'Last year the domestic emergency rules were changed to allow people who had recently been made homeless time out from actively seeking work to focus on finding suitable accommodation... please encourage claimants to declare their housing status. This will enable Work Coaches to discuss with claimants the range of flexibilities available when agreeing a Claimant Commitment.'

The law around who can be treated as available for work changed last year.  Claimants who have recently become homeless are to be treated as available for employment only where they take reasonable steps to find living accommodation and claimants may be treated as available for employment for periods of longer than one week and on more than four such occasions in any period of 12 months.
