There is new guidance on what amounts to 'exempt accommodation' for benefit rules and therefore affects which clients may be exempt from many of the main welfare reform changes. There are now four categories of supported housing that are included in the new definition of 'specified accommodation' being introduced. The first is what is already familiar- 'Exempt accommodation', the other three are new- 'managed properties', 'refuges' and 'hostels'.
