A stunning 86% of ESA (Employment and Support Allowance) decisions remain unchanged on mandatory reconsideration(click here for the figures) .... and then 70% are reversed on appeal!
Latest Statistics from the Tribunals Service tell us (January- March 2017)-
69,047 appeals against decisions were received, up 67% compared with the same period in 2016. This increase is driven by increases seen in ESA and PIP appeals which account for 86% of all SSCS appeals in this quarter. How many appeals are won by clients? PIP has 64% in favour of the customer ,ESA-70%, DLA - 61% and Job Seekers Allowance – 41%.
