The government is still to decide the rules of passporting for free school meals under Universal Credit.

David Laws has stated that whatever rules are brought in will not mean that any of the 600,000+ clients who get free school meals will be worse off under Universal Credit.  This includes 'Around 50,000 families with children in receipt of free school meals have net earnings of above £135 a week.
