A new law has come in from 6/4/2026 enhancing rights to Statutory Sick Pay.
What does it mean?
● Abolish waiting days- employees will have a new right to SSP from the frst day of sickness absence.
● A new rate for statutory sick pay which will be paid to the lowest earners, including all those earning below the
Lower Earnings Limit [£123 per week in 2024/2025 rising to £125 in 2025/2026]. An employee will be entitled to
the fat rate or a percentage of their earnings(80%), whichever is lower.
