Crisis and Resilience Fund from April 2026- April 2029(£1 billion in total).   Guidance has been issued to English Local Authorities-  4 strands(Local Authorities have discretion how much to allocate to each)-

'Crisis Payment: Providing support to those in crisis - cash first principle

Housing Payment: Providing financial support towards housing needs, to those who face a shortfall in meeting their housing costs -Authorities must name their schemes as ‘Housing Payment’. The Housing Payment will closely replicate existing DHP guidelines'

Resilience Services: Funding for services delivered by Authorities or external providers to improve financial resilience 

Community Coordination: Investment in activities that connect and enhance the local support landscape '

'The Fund is classified as Local Welfare Provision (LWP) and could be used to enhance existing Local Welfare Assistance (LWA) schemes. However, it is not intended to replace existing LWA schemes'       Book now Introduction to Benefits 2026
